Whisk (November)

Often piano wants it all its own way. What about me? Until no-one knows if it’s March or November. My way or the highway. Drums are worse, pushing their weight around, going over the top. When to put the foot down? Saxophone settles nicely, seems in control. But give an inch and relationships unequalise, rapidly. Saxophone’s confounded ego trip, again! Where’d that come from? It is voice, one like Virna Sanzone’s, gently whisks things into order, has to. If they listen for once, they change. Communication is harmonised, coheres, speaks the same language. Relations warm, start getting close for comfort.
